Nurse Practitioners and Physicians' Assistants
Nate Sann, CRNP – Nate is our nurse practitioner. A nurse practitioner or NP is a registered professional nurse who is prepared, through advanced graduate education and clinical training, to provide a wide range of healthcare services, including the diagnosis and management of common as well as complex medical conditions to individuals of all ages. NPs diagnose and treat both acute and chronic conditions. They order, perform, interpret and supervise diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays; and they prescribe medications and other treatments.
Nate is a graduate of Duquesne University with a mater's degree in Nursing. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Scranton. He is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania. After graduation, Nate was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army. He served on active duty for 5 years and 4 years in the U.S. Army Reserve. His previous experience includes: Bariatric Program Coordinator for Windber Surgery Center; Bariatric Program Coordinator and Nurse Manger of general surgery service at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C.; he has also worked in executive nursing, oncology, and medical/surgical nursing.
