Reconstructive Surgery

Home » Obesity Surgery » Patient Support » Reconstructive Surgery

After bariatric surgery, a common follow-up procedure is dealing with physical problems brought about by massive weight loss through reconstructive surgery.

A result of losing much of your weight in a short period of time is that you gain extra skin on portions of the body where fat was stored such as on the arms, belly, thighs, breasts, neck, buttocks and the eye area.

Reconstructive surgery is a surgical specialization that uses new plastic surgery techniques to reduce skin on almost any part of the body. Thus, you not only feel good about losing weight but you look healthy as well.

It is important that you discuss this procedure with your bariatric surgeon and ask your support group regarding their experience.
